The island of Mora is a mystery. Spotted hundreds of kilometers west of France in the 17th century, it wasn’t until 1912, a decade ago, that it was formally explored. The industrialist Cornelius Rasslear read their reports and discovered the island was rich in coal and other minerals. He quietly bought the island from the French government, claiming he wanted to turn it into a nature preserve. Little did he know what secrets the island hid.
